Cocoon Petite Living website by QMG

Cocoon Petite living (Cocoon) came to QMG after a number of bad experiences with web development contractors and/or businesses. Cocoon was left with a website that was problematic, unstable and incomplete. The final decision was to re-build the site using PHP, XML and Flash.

Timeline

Development time took approximately 9 weeks. During this time, QMG streamlined existing shopping cart and administration processes, optimised tags and links for search engines and minimised file size for download speeds. A testing server was set up so the client could view the development process and guide QMG through difficult structures and administration processes.

Delivery Method

The site used a variety of different coding languages including PHP, HTML, Flash and XML. Secure credit card validation and data encryption was required to provide users with a comfortable shopping experience.

Target Audience

The target demographic is aged between 25 to 35 year old professionals. The website was developed with download speeds and accessibility in mind.

QMG analysed the original site and presented Cocoon with a number of existing problems and required immediate attention. A list of priorities and costing was presented to cocoon to provide them with a variety of options for their budget.

QMG analysed download speeds, accessibility and validity to gather information on the previous system. This provided a point of reference from where forecasts and expectations where put in place. Once the site was re-developed by QMG developers, the site was then analysed again and the results presented to Cocoon. These results showed an increase of 200% performance. Cocoon now relies on internet sales as a marketing and sales tool.

Regular meetings on and off site where organised to ensure Cocoon where happy with the direction of the project.
